For one thing I found out truck pulls are a lot of fun! You get to meet so many people! The tractor pulls were okay, but the truck pulls were intense. I helped hand out tickets over with my buddy Margo, who has driven me in two parades. I met a lot of the people that help out with the fair the day I went, and just sat and talked with them. I made new friends and even met some of my good friend Tyler Meneely's little cousins who wanted pictures with me!! This was just another good experience at my fair-The Erie Co. Fair!
It was a very cold day and it looked like it was going to rain so my original car couldn't come because it had no top. I neded up riding on the top of my aunts SUV . In the car was my best friend Kiersten (Who is the sister of , my Grandma Bennett, Daddy- Adam Bennett, and Brett Bennett my little brother (7). I ran out of candy soo quick! I saw so many people I knew. Then my brother kept yelling out the window I ate all the candy! It was so funny Kiersten told him to say it. It was a lot of fun, and it's one of the biggest parade's around here so I was excited and felt very blessed to be apart of it representing my fair!
I met some great people and had the toughest competition that has beaten me out before.
I prepared like never before! My mom even made me walk around with books on my head! lol
I wanted to win and accomplish something and I have only begun!
I was the First African American to get th title. [Which alot of people got offended by when it appeared in the Journal, but I'm proud]
Tyler Paul Meneely has been the biggest help through it all by driving me around all over high heaven [Erie Co Fair Everyday that week, Waterford Fair, and Albion Fair]
I hope to get the fair more exposure and helping raise money so our fair can be back on top!
The state Competition is in January and I will be competing against none other than my good friend Rachel Cox (Sparta Queen), love ya girl, I wish her and the rest the best of luck.
A final note would be to thank everyone that has helped me especially Mrs. Sue Nolan, who dealt with me calling everyday for information if I was doing something right! And a thank you to my Grandpa Harry Burrows who ran the fair for 60 years, I hope he is looking down proud.
